Dear Vista,

An interactive cover letter — mapping a decade of product leadership to the role you've written.

Vision & Stakeholder Management

ACT I · VISION & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

You wrote six bullets.

Tap each line of the job description. The card opens to the part of my career it matches — not a paraphrase, the actual work.

At Global Dairy Trade I lead cross-functional squads designing a modular SaaS auction platform — product decisions move international dairy trade volumes, so squad direction has to be precise and commercially literate.

Discovery & Execution

ACT II · DISCOVERY & EXECUTION

Decisions need five inputs.

Vista's JD names them: Business, Engineering, Customers, Market, Data. Click each axis on the compass — the panel below shows where I've earned the right to speak to it.

BUSINESS

Tied to Vista OKRs

At IAG I sat inside a McKinsey-led transformation co-building the 3–5 year strategy. I've worked with exec teams long enough to know that a roadmap's job is to defend a business outcome, not impress an audience.

Customers & Market

ACT III · CUSTOMERS & MARKET

Measured wins.

A reel of customer-facing products I've shipped. Each one is measurable, each one survived contact with real customers, and each one moved a number that mattered.

  1. 2023→Now· Global Dairy Trade

    Modular marketplace platform

Designing a SaaS platform that integrates the full auction ecosystem — onboarding to settlement — for one of the world's largest commodity trading marketplaces. Three customer cohorts, one product surface.

  2. 2021· IAG · AU

    Disaster-response SMS platform

Shipped a comms platform that automated outbound SMS to impacted customers during major Australian weather events. Built fast, run during crises, judged on empathy at scale.

  3. 2021· IAG · NZ partnerships

Online lodgement with Westpac & BNZ

Delivered banking-partner integrations where 20%+ of partner claims now lodge online. Customer engagement here meant joint product workshops with two banks at once.

  4. 2020· IAG · Group Tech

    Real-Time Decision Engine

Auto-verifies straightforward claims at lodgement. 75% reduction in average handling time for new digital lodgements — measured, not estimated.

  5. 2016· IAG · Digital

    First digital claim forms

Product lead that shifted 15% of all claims to online channels — a structural change in how a national insurer serviced its customers.

Requirements, Line by Line

ACT IV · REQUIREMENTS

Line by line.

Left column: what Vista asks for. Right column: what's already on the table. No padding, no rewording — just the match.

01

4+ years in the software industry

13+ years building digital products, the last decade as a PM.

02

Software design principles

Cross-platform architecture framework co-built with Enterprise Architects; SDLC and discovery frameworks embedded at GDT.

03

Take ownership outside area of expertise

Outside the day job I run AI PM Briefing, publish a weekly newsletter, lead experience at Product Aotearoa, and published 'Don't Think, Change'.

04

Create interest, take people on a journey

You're reading the proof. (Also: a book, a newsletter, a podcast brief, and AI-generated music.)

05

Create unity as a positive, collaborative member

Volunteer experience lead for NZ's only annual PM conference — the role exists to make crew feel welcomed and connected.

06

Excellent written & verbal communication

Published author, working journalist of the PM craft, and operator inside three customer-facing organisations.

07

Overseas travel

Already operating in global ecosystems (GDT's marketplace, IAG's AU/NZ portfolio). Travel-ready and time-zone literate.

Shared Standards

ACT V · SHARED STANDARDS

Already mine.

The four behaviours in Vista's compass aren't a stretch — they're the operating system I've already been running.

STANDARD 01

One Crew

Different functions, different time zones. I've worked across product, engineering, marketing, ops, partner teams, and external agencies — the team is wherever the problem lives.

STANDARD 02

Shine a Light

Authored IAG's internal Product Playbook explicitly so the 'why' behind decisions wasn't lost in handover. I write a public newsletter for the same reason.

STANDARD 03

Make it Happen

75% handling-time reduction. 20%+ partner lodgement uptake. 7% increase in online claim submissions. 15% channel shift. The numbers exist because the work shipped.

STANDARD 04

Chase Great

I run two side projects, published a book, and produce AI music in my spare time. Improvement is a personal default — not a performance review item.
